The final countdown to HYROX Abu Dhabi is on. With racing taking place from 23–25 October, including a women-only race day on Friday, your last few days of training look a little different.
You've put in the work; now it's time to ease off, recover and give your body a chance to feel ready for the start line.
A lighter session at your usual gym, some time for mobility and a good meal before race day. Here's how to approach your taper week with Privilee, including where to train, stretch and refuel across Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The schedule below is a guide, so adjust it around your own race day and how you're feeling.
Monday: Keep moving, just do less
There's still room for one last training session, but you don't need to give it everything.
Keep some familiar HYROX movements in your workout and dial back the volume. Fewer rounds, lighter loads and a little race-pace work can help you stay comfortable with the movements without adding unnecessary fatigue.

📍 Dubai
If you're training in Dubai, CHALK Training Ground, DRVN, The Circuit Factory and Athlete Fitness are all options for your final session.

📍 Abu Dhabi
In the capital, head to Hybrid House, Arena Fitness or Volt Fitness.
Stick to movements you know, keep the session shorter than usual and resist the temptation to squeeze in one more full race simulation.
Tuesday: Stay sharp, not sore
Tuesday calls for a shorter gym session, ideally somewhere you can make time for recovery afterwards.
Think light technique work, activation exercises and a few controlled efforts. You're keeping your body moving without trying to improve your fitness at the last minute.

📍 Dubai
At Viya Fit Mina Seyahi, you can follow a lighter gym session with complimentary sauna and steam room access.
Move at FIVE JVC also includes complimentary sauna and steam room access, with ice baths available at a preferential Privilee Member rate of AED 50.

📍 Abu Dhabi
321 Sports offers cold plunge and sauna access alongside its gym, giving you the option to make recovery part of your visit.
Keep the workout manageable. You want to leave feeling like you could have done more.
Wednesday: Make time for mobility
By midweek, it's a good time to put the heavier training aside and focus on how your body feels.
A stretching or mobility session gives you time to work through stiffness and pay attention to areas that have taken a lot of load during training. Keep the movements comfortable, especially if you're racing on Friday.
There are a few classes to add to your calendar on Wednesday 21 October.

📍 Dubai
StudioRepublik has a Deep Stretch class at 6pm, lasting 50 minutes.
At Action in Motion, Deep Assisted Stretch starts at 7pm and runs for 60 minutes, offering a guided approach to stretching.
You can also explore 700 Padel & Fitness Hub and In The Pink, a ladies-only studio in Dubai Hills, for lighter movement options, depending on their available classes.

📍 Abu Dhabi
YOGAONE Mangrove One offers Warm Deep Stretching + Rlt at 5.30pm, with a 60-minute session.
Fitness First Marina Mall has a 45-minute Stretch class at 7pm. This class is ladies-only.
Check the Privilee app for class availability and booking details before planning your visit.
And if your body feels better with a rest day, take one. There's no need to fill every day of your taper week with a booking.
Thursday: Race-day ready
Thursday is about getting organised and keeping things familiar.
Put your training kit together, check your race start time and plan how you're getting to the venue. Give yourself time to eat well, stay hydrated and get an early night.
You can make a meal out part of the plan, too.

📍 Dubai
Common Grounds and Tom Serg are both good options for a pre-race breakfast or lunch, with Privilee Members receiving 15% off dining at each.

📍 Abu Dhabi
Market at The Abu Dhabi EDITION is a good choice for a meal before the weekend, with 20% off dining for Privilee Members.
Stick with foods you know sit well with you, particularly if you're racing the following morning. Race week isn't the time to experiment with a new supplement or completely change what you eat.
If your race is on Saturday or Sunday, adjust the final days around your start time. A gentle walk, some light mobility or complete rest may be more useful than another workout.
Post-race: Make time for recovery
Once you've crossed the finish line, give yourself some time to rest and recover. A little downtime after race day can be just as welcome as the training that came before it.

📍 Dubai
Champs Platinum, Fountain Views
Make time for some post-race recovery at Champs Platinum, Fountain Views, where you can use the sauna or take a dip in the ice bath – a good option for some downtime after a demanding race.

📍 Abu Dhabi
West Bay Abu Dhabi
If you're staying in Abu Dhabi for the weekend, West Bay is a good place to spend some time after the race. Make use of the sauna and steam room, then head to the beach for a slower afternoon.
Give yourself time to recover before getting back into your usual training routine.
Your final HYROX taper checklist
Before race day, keep these in mind:
Aim for 7–9 hours of sleep each night
Drink water regularly and pay attention to hydration
Make sure you're eating enough, including carbohydrates to support your race preparation
Stick to familiar meals, snacks and supplements
Avoid trying new workouts or intense recovery treatments
Check your race time, kit and travel arrangements in advance
Don't try to make up for missed training sessions
Give yourself permission to rest
See you at the start line
Your fitness is already built; the final few days are about arriving with enough energy to put that training to use.
Keep your sessions lighter, make time for recovery and plan the rest of your week around what your body needs.
If you're looking for somewhere to train, stretch or grab a pre-race meal, you'll find the venues in your Privilee app.
Good luck at HYROX Abu Dhabi 🏁
