Member : The LAB Studios: Why it’s part of my weekly routine

My go-to for lower body strength training in Downtown

Privilee Team

Lucy

My favourite class at The LAB Studios is Strength + Conditioning - Lower Body Focus. Obsessssed!

Every Sunday, my friend Lucy (Privilee’s Senior Content Writer) and I head to The LAB Studios Strength + Conditioning Lower Body class. It’s become a regular part of my week. We book in, grab a shake afterwards, catch up, and end the weekend on a high.

Lately, I’ve been trying to incorporate more strength training into my routine. I do a lot of Pilates and yoga, but I wanted to feel stronger, lift heavier, and challenge myself in a different way. The LAB Studios has been the perfect balance of structured strength training without feeling intimidating.

The first thing I noticed when I started going was the vibe. Some strength-focused workouts can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re new to lifting weights. But The LAB feels different. The front desk team remember your name, the coaches are genuinely welcoming, and there’s a real community feel the second you walk in. Everyone’s there to train hard, but it’s not too serious.

The strength studio design and aesthetic also help set the tone. It’s dark, sleek, and spacious, with good music playing. You can really lock into the workout.

And the equipment setup is amazing. There’s everything you need: squat racks, weight plates, kettlebells, dumbbells, and cardio equipment (for the conditioning part of the workout). Whether you’re lifting heavy or just starting with strength training, like me, you can make the workout work for you. You pick the pace!

That’s probably one of my favourite things about the classes. They’re adaptable for every level. You choose your own weights, your own intensity, and the coaches are really good at guiding you through movements properly. If your form needs adjusting, they’ll help. If you want to challenge yourself more, they’ll push you.

The Sunday Strength + Conditioning Lower Body class follows a really structured format, which I love. You warm up first, then move through four different rounds of exercises, spending around 10 minutes on each (Strength, Conditioning, Strength, Conditioning). Every section targets your lower body in a slightly different way, so by the end of the class, your legs feel worked. I always feel it a few days after, too, so I feel like I’ve had a really good workout.

Despite it being a tough session, it never feels like a chore. The coaches keep the energy high, the transitions smooth, and the music always helps. I genuinely look forward to this every week.

I’ve got so into the classes that sometimes I’ll purchase an extra class during the week through Privilee for AED 65. If I can make it, I’ll book onto the Glutes-focused Strength class at 6am on a Thursday before work. Such a great start to the day and a super-targeted workout. 🍑 IYKYK.

Another bonus at The LAB Studios is the location. The studio is in Burj Views, Downtown Dubai, and I love the change of scenery. I live in Dubai Marina, so most of my routine happens around that area. Going to The LAB Studios breaks it up a bit. You can see the Burj Khalifa across from the studio; the area feels busy and energetic, and it gives me a true “Dubai” feeling.

Then there’s the post-workout ritual… On Sundays, Lucy and I will stay after class and grab a shake or coffee from the café. It’s one of the best parts of the routine.

I think that’s why The LAB Studios works so well. The workouts are effective, the equipment and coaching are great, and it’s become part of my routine in a way that feels easy to maintain.
