When my family and I need an escape from the city, InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa is our go-to.

As a Mum of three, finding the perfect family-friendly spot for a daycay isn’t always easy. I’m Rebecca, a British expat living in Dubai, and when my family and I need an escape from the city, InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa is our go-to. From its stunning beaches to kid-friendly pools and dedicated clubs for little ones and teens, this resort has something for everyone. Here’s why we keep coming back!

Escaping the city for Ras Al Khaimah

Just over an hour’s drive from Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah feels like a world away. The moment we arrive at InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah, we instantly relax. The resort’s laid-back island vibes, white sand, and turquoise waters make it feel like a tropical getaway, without needing to board a flight.

Shaded kids' pool – a parent’s dream!

Keeping little ones entertained while staying sun-safe is a priority, and the shaded kids' pool here is ideal. My children love splashing around, and the turtle splash feature is always a huge hit! It means I can sit back and relax, knowing they’re having the best time.

Infinity pool and beachside cabanas

One of our favourite spots as a family is the shallow infinity pool—it’s perfect for cooling off and taking a dip, plus it’s safe for my youngest. If we’re in the mood for beach time, the shaded cabanas right by the sand offer the perfect spot to unwind. With the gentle sea breeze and endless ocean views, we genuinely feel like we’re on an island paradise.

Planet Trekkers Kids' Club (fun for them and a break for me!)

When I want a little time to myself, I know the kids are in safe hands at Planet Trekkers Kids’ Club. It's their favourite part of the day with plenty of activities to keep them engaged. And for me? It’s an excuse to sneak off for a peaceful lunch or even a coffee with a book—something I don’t get to do often!

Teens' Club

We don’t have any teenagers in my family (yet…!) but my friends do so I know how important it is for them to have their own space. The Teens' Club is a game-changer, it’s packed with tech, gaming consoles, and activities that keep them entertained for hours.

A treat for the whole family

After a busy day of swimming and playing, a good meal is a must. The dining options here cater to all tastes, whether it’s a laid-back poolside snack, fresh seafood by the beach, or something at one of the restaurants. And as a Privilee Member, I love that we get 20% off dining, we sometimes even arrive early so we can grab breakfast before starting our day.

Why we keep coming back

InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa ticks every box for a stress-free, fun-filled family day out. With shaded pools, kids’ and teens’ clubs, stunning beaches, and great dining options, it’s the perfect escape from city life. If you’re looking for a place where both kids and parents can truly enjoy their day, this is it!
