Why the off-season matters
The off-season is when I really dial in on areas that will benefit my performance throughout the season. It’s a time to address weaknesses, refine my skills, and most importantly, recover. During this time, my focus shifts to conditioning, strength-building, and maintaining mobility. The goal is to keep my body in peak condition without overloading it, and I rely heavily on the right environment to do that.

A sneak peek at my off-season routine
A typical off-season training session at Level Up starts with a solid warm-up. I use the Skillmill treadmill to get the blood flowing, priming both my legs and mind for the session ahead. Coordination drills are a big part of my warm-up, helping me fine-tune my timing and rhythm. After that, I move into a strength block, focusing on deadlifts, cleans, and sledpushes to build lower body power.
For conditioning, I’ll hit intervals on the SkiErg or rower, pushing my stamina and endurance. The final part of my session focuses on recovery, with mobility work and cool-down stretches to keep everything in check. It’s a well-rounded session that targets my main off-season goals: improving strength, speed, and mobility while making sure my body recovers fully.

Performance goals & consistency
During the off-season, my primary goal is to build strength and improve my explosive power – things I’ll need to maintain throughout the upcoming season.
I also love to try new sports to refresh my body and revitalise my mind. For me, that’s been diving into padel – a fun way to stay active while challenging my coordination and agility. Consistency is key to progress, and Level Up Gyms offers the perfect space to explore new sports and improve my overall fitness. The environment and equipment help me stay physically and mentally engaged, ensuring I’m ready for whatever comes next in my training.
